GROWING INTO A WOMAN

This installation acts as almost a documentation of a decade of growth; from the girl I was at age 10 to the woman I am today, approaching 20. It gives a record of how the unrealistic ideals that society pushes on women and their bodies have had an effect on me, as it has most every other young woman. As well as body image, it also looks to bring to light wider feminist topics that I also care a great deal about.

There is an Imagined Reality that I wish to become true, and it is one in which the issues that this installation addresses, plus many more, are no longer present in our society. It is a reality that I am hopeful is possible to achieve and will be able happen one day.
