Collection of sound, sculpture, photographs, digital drawings/manipulations, & video work

This page is made up of a collection of material investigating the act of misremembering and the documentation of fleeting moments. Each element can be approached at different times depending on the viewer's individual interaction, representing the way in which memories change & distort over time, with new layers added and others forgotten. I have a particular interest in song and sound, and its ability to trigger memories or visuals, which is explored here through songs from my childhood, Irish family 'party pieces' and snippets of conversation. The shape of the wire sculpture is based off my memory of the Irish tune 'Fiddler's Green', playing on the visual interpretation of sound and how misremembering can create new variations of the original content. The collection aims to portray an Imagined Reality in which fragmented material can come together in multiple ways to form new narratives and perspectives, in turn constructing and curating a memory.
